A marathon, not a sprint

We don’t nearly celebrate consistency enough.

Day to day, week to week, year on year. Turning up every day is what counts over the longer distances.

Obviously it’s more complicated than that but consistency is something you can’t cheat on race day. There are no shortcuts.

That doesn’t mean you overwork. It means find a pace that is sustainable for you. Chip away, expect peaks and troughs, be patient, and stay hungry.

Be aware that hard work isn’t a guarantee, it’s the minimum requirement. You still might fall short, the marathon owes you nothing. Stay in there, most good things in life don’t come easy.

You’re overworking again

Yeah but…

It protects the team and I want to win

— Me

The team will emulate and aspire to be you. If you overwork, they will too

You should listen to him more

Guilty but always learning 😇.
